We were pleased to have Erik, N5WR, operate with us for the first time.
He moved to Joplin, Missouri (not too far away) about a year ago. Hopefully he will be able to come again for this and other multi-operator contests. All our operators did a great job and worked well as a team.
The low band conditions were particularly good, and we had fun working some multipliers on 80m that we are not normally able to work. That inverted V at 60 feet near the big drop off toward the Northwest that Kevin and I put up about an hour before the contest was good for HS0, 9V1, BY, etc. on 80m. It’s just amazing what a drop in elevation of about 250 meters in a distance of about 1000 meters coupled with good conditions will do for a simple antenna’s performance.
Thanks to the thousands of radio operators world wide who take part and together make the contest a lot of fun for each other. Congratulations to everyone who competed and had fun doing it.
